Introduction

There are many great cities in America for art lovers. In this article, I’ll explore three of them: New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Explore The Artistic Heart Of America

New York City

New York City is the cultural, financial and media capital of the world. It’s home to many museums, galleries and theatres; hosts numerous art fairs and festivals every year; and it’s an excellent place to shop for art. The Big Apple has something for everyone–from collectors looking to invest in a piece that will increase in value over time (or those who simply want something beautiful on their walls) to aspiring artists looking for inspiration at one of its many museums or galleries.

Chicago

Chicago is a city with a rich artistic history, and it has many museums that showcase the work of local artists. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection are both excellent places to visit for contemporary art lovers. The MCA regularly hosts performances by bands like Wilco and Wilco side projects, in addition to hosting other events such as lectures from well-known curators.

The city’s parks are also great places for outdoor activities like biking or hiking with friends or family members. The Lincoln Park Zoo is located just north of downtown Chicago; this zoo features free admission on Thursdays! If you’re looking for something less formal than an actual zoo but still want some animals around you as part of your day trip, try visiting Brookfield Zoo instead–it’s right next door! Or maybe even drive out east towards Lake Michigan; there are plenty of beaches there where people go swimming during summertime weather conditions such as these ones we’re experiencing today (and every day).

Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a city of art lovers. From its museums to galleries, theaters and film festivals, Los Angeles is home to some of the most creative people in America.

If you’re looking for something new and exciting, head over to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Located near Hollywood Boulevard this museum houses over 100 thousand pieces from around the world including paintings by Picasso and Monet as well as sculptures by Rodin. There are also several special exhibits throughout the year including one called “Van Gogh’s Van Goghs: Masterpieces From The Musee National Des Beaux Arts” which opened on March 16th 2019 until June 1st 2020! If you can’t make it out there during this time frame don’t worry because another exhibit titled “The World In Our Hands: Craftsmanship In Contemporary Art” will open on June 12th 2020 until January 5th 2021!

Washington D.C.

The National Gallery of Art is one of the largest art museums in the world and houses collections from many great masters, including Caravaggio and Botticelli. The museum also boasts one of the most impressive collections of American art in existence.

The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden houses works by artists such as Picasso and Rodin along with an expansive collection of modern sculpture that includes pieces by Alexander Calder, Henry Moore and David Smith among others.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum was established in 1964 with an aim to collect, preserve and study American artworks made between 1750-1950s (with some exceptions). With over 50,000 pieces currently on display at any given time it’s safe to say this place has plenty more than just a few treasures hidden away inside its walls!

The National Portrait Gallery features portraits from all across America’s history including those painted by Rembrandt himself! But don’t worry if you don’t know much about art–they offer guided tours daily so even beginners can learn something new about ourselves through these fascinating portraits

If you’re interested in seeing some of the best works of art, then there are several places you should consider visiting. Here’s a list of some of our favorites:

  • New York City – This is one of the most popular destinations for tourists, but it also boasts an impressive collection of museums and galleries from around the world. There’s even an entire neighborhood dedicated to art (SoHo). If you want to see something specific, there’s no shortage of options here!
  • San Francisco – The home base for Google and Twitter means that techies aren’t your only option when it comes to finding things to do during your visit–there are plenty more options if those aren’t your thing! You can also find great restaurants here as well if foodie culture interests you as much as art does!

Conclusion

These are just a few of the cities that make America great for art lovers. There are many more cities across the country with incredible museums and galleries worth visiting, so don’t miss out on this opportunity!
